We have been involved in introducing modeling to children of all ages, sending children to camp, doing flying demos at local schools, churches, and parks. We have also set up simulators and static displays at various locations as an educational experience to our community. We are always open to new ideas to promote our hobby to others in a safe way.
LARKS Mission Statement
To promote model aircraft building and flying as a family oriented hobby, to freely and openly share what we have collectively learned and experienced, and to provide an enjoyable, friendly and safe environment for our fellow hobbyists and guests.
This 80 mm twin 12 blade EDF is an engineering marvel, and though it still hasn't taken off the runway, it is an impressive piece of work.
We got to view the "guts" and wiring. Wow, this is possibly the most complicated model ever to grace our fields. It has a rigid aluminum wing box assembly with pre-installed servoless actuators to work the swept wing. Motion RC says the plane will fly at 38 mph with the wings extended to over 100 mph with the wings swept back.
As of Monday February 25, 2019, the FAA’s Interim Final Rule requires drone pilots and model aircraft pilots to display their FAA-issued registration number on the outside surface of their aircraft.
If you're like me, you have delayed getting your Spektrum Radios registered. I required service from Horizon for my DX-9 and it would have been a little easier if the radios had been registered with the manufacturer.
MultiGP is the worlds largest drone racing league. You should see these guys fly! Using FPV (First Person Viewing) gear they fly these racers with only the goggles showing the way via cameras on the drones. Commercially available racers to awesome home-builts, these machines can fly! Free to join the Organization.
Found this goodie on Amazon when I Googled Racing Drones.
It looks like it will be a lot of fun. Should be able to use it to tap into the Drone Racer's video at Rawls Point during the Spring Float Fly.
This $129.00 gadget has a built in video recorder (720 X 576 resolution) and on full charge should go for 2 hours. It can accept 2S or 3S LiPo batteries to extend working time. It is light weight, 375 grams, or about 11 ounces.
Ordered one February 28th, and should receive in a couple of days.

Does not have some of the GPS features on the larger camera drones, but at $279.99, its a lot easier on the pocket book. Reviews were mixed, people either loved it or hated it. Read the reviews and the Q&A.
There will be a $10 landing fee, lunch will be a donation. There are no limits to size. FLY WHAT YOU BRING. Gliders, Gas, Jets, Electric. A charging facility will be provided. Our field has a 2000' runway and parking is limited so get there early. Flying starts @ 9am.
