We have been involved in introducing modeling to children of all ages, sending children to camp, doing flying demos at local schools, churches, and parks. We have also set up simulators and static displays at various locations as an educational experience to our community. We are always open to new ideas to promote our hobby to others in a safe way.
LARKS Mission Statement
To promote model aircraft building and flying as a family oriented hobby, to freely and openly share what we have collectively learned and experienced, and to provide an enjoyable, friendly and safe environment for our fellow hobbyists and guests.
This 80 mm twin 12 blade EDF is an engineering marvel, and though it still hasn't taken off the runway, it is an impressive piece of work.
We got to view the "guts" and wiring. Wow, this is possibly the most complicated model ever to grace our fields. It has a rigid aluminum wing box assembly with pre-installed servoless actuators to work the swept wing. Motion RC says the plane will fly at 38 mph with the wings extended to over 100 mph with the wings swept back.
I've been ordering from these guys from the moment I decided to return to the hobby. Prices can't be beat and service is excellent. They have a point system from purchases that can be used for lots of goodies.
"The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) T-45 Goshawk is a highly modified version of the British BAE Systems Hawk land-based training jet aircraft. Manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and British Aerospace (now BAE Systems), the T-45 is used by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer. . "
Just started using them in the past year. Great place for 5-6 cell batteries, kits, ARFs, and boats and cars. Several unique offerings you won't find anywhere else. Service is great and shipping costs have dropped drastically in the last few months.
A change of pace. Something to meditate to or help you get to sleep.......
This is HobbyKing's Glue-N-Go foamboard 70mm wingspan kit. It's priced right at $22.54 and it built from quality, laser cut foamboard with no paper backing. It is advertised as not being brittle and being impervious to water. Wings are carbon fiber reinforced.
The kit does not include any electronics, as you may have guessed from the price. You'll need a 30 A ESC, three small (9 Gm) servos and a small brushless, electric motor. Power supplied by a 1500 mAh 3S LiPo battery. Any radio and receiver combination will do, but you'll need either a Y harness for the wing servos or a radio you can program. A small 4-6 channel receiver is best.
Ordered one January 28th, and received it February 4th.
A new prospective member, Dave (another one), wowed us at the field with his 3-D RedWing and Scorpion heli.
He's a Shaw guy and might find him in the near future at the Sod Farm.
Time to Renew!
It's getting that time of year again. AMA and LARKS Renewals are due.
