We have been involved in introducing modeling to children of all ages, sending children to camp, doing flying demos at local schools, churches, and parks. We have also set up simulators and static displays at various locations as an educational experience to our community. We are always open to new ideas to promote our hobby to others in a safe way.
LARKS Mission Statement
To promote model aircraft building and flying as a family oriented hobby, to freely and openly share what we have collectively learned and experienced, and to provide an enjoyable, friendly and safe environment for our fellow hobbyists and guests.
My friend, Dave Kennedy, sent me the link to the Video of the Month. This video showed how a group of volunteers restored this historic WWII bomber (also used in the Korean War). It was the most technologically sophisticated bomber of its time.
Named the Superfortress, it was a direct descendant of Boeings's B-17 Flying Fortress.
The bomber could reach speeds of 350 mph and altitudes of almost 32,000 feet (its best defense).
Mike has been the Club President for the past two years, a LARKS Member for the last 17 years and an AMA Member for 43 years!
Currently, he's flying a J-3 Cub, an MX-2, Viper Jet, Bandit Boomerang, and a T-28.
Next project is a 1/3 scale J-3 Neltiz Cub.

A bankruptcy court judge approved Horizon Hobby's $18.8 million purchase of Hobbico's remote-control business Monday, which means Hobbico employees must reapply for their jobs at Horizon before the purchase is completed April 5th.
Horizon is buying Hobbico's Great Planes and Tower Hobbies divisions, along with its Axial and Arrma brands.
The Colorado based Estes Model Rocket division (I remember flying dozens of Estes Rockets in my youth) will be purchased by the Langford Group for 7 million.
I don't know how this effects the thousands of us regular Tower Hobby customers. Time will tell.................

They did great work on my Phantom's transmitter, for a very reasonable cost. They work on other models, too!
On April 6-8 in Toledo Ohio, once again, Weak Signals RC Club is putting on the 64th RC Expo. I have admired the models displayed each year since the late 70's.
